Coconut Milk Kheer/Payasam

Ingredients

    • 1 cup unpolished rice/ ragi noodles
    • 1 coconut – milk removed
    • 1/2 cup chopped dates/raisins
    • 1 tsp cardamom powder
    • 3 tbsp cashews/ raisins/ almonds (roasted)

Method

Cook the ragi noodles or rice. Mix the dates/raisins with coconut milk. Heat the coconut milk and add it to the noodles or rice. Flavor with cardamom and nuts.

Note- Coconut Milk is not whole and is used for special occasions.

Variation

This dish can be made with different varieties of vermicelli, rice and daals like mung dal, chana dal etc.
