What is Cancer ?

We have a system of controlling the growth of cells in our body. When the cells in our body, bypassing all the signal that our body give to them, start growing uncontrollably, we get cancer. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma.

Popular Known Causes

There are 3 types of causes of cancer –

  • Physical causes – X-rays, UV rays, gamma rays etc.
  • Chemical causes – Alfatoxin, acylamide etc.
  • Biological causes – some viruses etc.

Traditional Treatments ​

  • Chemotherapy aims to kill cancerous cells with medications that target rapidly dividing cells. The drugs can help shrink tumors, but the side effects are severe.
  • Hormone therapy involves taking medications that change how certain hormones work or interfere with the body’s ability to produce them. When hormones This is a common approach with breast and prostate cancer.
  • Immunotherapy uses medications and other treatments to boost the immune system and encourage it to fight cancerous cells. Two examples of these treatments are checkpoint inhibitors and adoptive cell transfer.
  • Radiation therapy uses high-dose radiation to kill cancerous cells. Also, a doctor may recommend using radiation to shrink a tumor before surgery or reduce tumor-related symptoms. However, radiation therapy can itself cause cancer.
  • Stem cell transplant can be especially beneficial for people with blood-related cancers, such as leukemia or lymphoma. It involves removing cells, such as red or white blood cells, that chemotherapy or radiation has destroyed. Lab technicians then strengthen the cells and put them back into the body.
  • Surgery is often a part of a treatment plan when a person has a cancerous tumor. Also, a surgeon may remove lymph nodes to reduce or prevent the disease’s spread.

  1. Although genes are the fundamental foundation for all biological effects, it is proper nutrition that controls the expression of these genes, upregulating good genes and downregulating bad genes.
  2. Nutritional effects cannot be ascribed to the effects of individual nutrients—that’s pharmacology—but to the collective effects of countless nutrients and related chemicals.
  3. Formation of so-called chronic diseases (cardiovascular, neoplastic, autoimmune, metabolic) should not be described by a single, rate-limiting mechanism but by a multiplicity of highly integrated mechanisms that seem to act in symphony.
  4. Altering disease development and/or its reversal by single chemical (i.e., drug) intervention does not make much sense.
  5. Cancer is reversible by nutritional means.
  6. Animal proteins, as a group, have distinctly different biological properties from plant proteins, as a group.
  7. Observations on animal protein associations with health and disease outcomes among human cohorts and populations include both direct biological effects of protein as well as indirect effects of nutrients that are displaced by the consumption of high protein diets

Specific Remedies


Latest research from University of Michigan and nearly three centuries of medicinal use, suggest that we can now utilize ginger root to not only kill ovarian cancer cells, but also prostate cancer cells with zero toxicity. Ginger inhibits growth and modulates secretion of angiogenic factors in ovarian cancer cells. The use of dietary agents such as ginger may have potential in the treatment and prevention of ovarian cancer.”
Ginger has also been proven to treat prostate cancer. The British Journal of Nutrition published the results of an American study recently in which ginger extract (zingiber officinale) killed human prostate cancer cells while healthy prostate cells were left alone. Whole ginger extract was revealed to shrink prostate tumor size by a whopping 56%
Further adding to the benefits of ginger, the spice has no toxicity when consumed even in high doses, and does not cause people to endure the very uncomfortable side effects of chemo and radiation treatments.


Researchers have just discovered that a cold-water extract of moringa tree leaves kills up to 93% of human lung cancer cells (A549) in vitro after 48 hours, and also strongly inhibited their ability to grow and spread (stopping them from metastasizing). And after seven days, the moringa extract had actually wiped out virtually 100% of the lung cancer cell colonies. Researchers in this study also found the extract killed breast cancer and skin cancer cells, while other studies have shown moringa’s ability to suppress ovarian, colon, and liver cancer as well as myeloma and melanoma. Moringa tree, also called the “miracle tree,” has been used for centuries in traditional and Ayurvedic medicine due to its many health benefits as an immune-booster, antifungal, antibacterial, antidepressant, anti-diabetes, pain and fever reducer and even relief from asthma. In fact, it was even used by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans! Latest research has also uncovered potent anti-diabetes activity of this super-herb, which improved blood sugar profiles in diabetic rats and — amazingly — actually seemed to repair damaged insulin-producing cell islets on the diabetic rats’ pancreas tissue. If you can’t get it fresh, moringa pills are widely available.

Apple peels

A novel triterpenoid, named 3β-trans-cinnamoyloxy-2α-hydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid (CHUA), was one of the main components of apple peels and showed potent in vitro antitumor activity against human tumor cells. In vivo antitumor experiments showed that CHUA could significantly inhibit the growth of mammary tumor in a nude mouse xenograft model at a dose of 50 mg/kg/day without body weight loss and mortality.


Aloe Vera Compound Kills 90% of Breast Cancer Cells: Aloin, a compound found in aloe vera, was shown to kill up to 90% of human breast cancer cells in vitro— and at remarkably low concentrations. Aloe vera contains multiple anticancer compounds such as aloin, emodin and alosin. It also contains potent antioxidants and immune stimulating compounds which are responsible for its many other health benefits. Aloe vera has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine to treat burns and sunburns, aid in wound healing, support the immune system and many others. Recent research has confirmed many of these benefits as well as aloe’s potent antibacterial properties (aloe mouthwash has been shown to actually fight plaque build-up in a just-published clinical trial). And most impressively: it’s already been proven on real cancer patients in clinical trials. In one trial, cancer patients taking aloe vera in addition to chemo felt better, had more 3 times more remissions, and lived significantly longer than the patients just taking chemo. It’s also been tested in multiple trials as a treatment for radiation dermatitis (it works). Aloe vera has also shown activity against colon, lung, prostate and pancreatic cancer in lab studies. But strangely, no further clinical trials are being run to confirm aloe vera as a cancer treatment. One has to wonder why.


Watermelon Compound Halts 95% of Breast Cancer Growth in Vitro: Watermelon is a rich source of the unique compound known as cucurbitacin E. In this study, cucurbitacin E was shown to slow the growth of human breast cancer cells by up to 95% and increase the rate of programmed cell death by an amazing 1800%. So do these lab results translate into real health benefits for women? Yes they do. A recent study out of China showed that women who ate more watermelon, cantaloupe and papaya had 38% less risk of breast cancer (canteloupe is also a rich source of cucurbitacin E, as are winter squash, pumpkin and cucumbers). How much was needed for this effect? Roughly 5-10 servings per week. And watermelon doesn’t just benefit women. Another study out of China published just last year showed that men eating 163 grams daily of watermelon had 35% less risk of prostate cancer. Cucurbitacin E is a powerful antioxidant as well as natural anti-inflammatory. In other lab studies it has been observed to potently slow the growth of ovarian, colon, lung, mouth, pancreatic and bladder cancers, as well as glioma (brain cancer). How can we get enough of this highly beneficial compound year-round? By making pumpkin, winter squash, watermelon, cantaloupe and cucumbers (as seasons permit) a regular part of a diet rich in fruit, vegetables and whole foods.


Cucumber Kills 96% of Breast Cancer Cells in Vitro and Reduces Risk in Women: Cucumber is rich in the compound cucurbitacin B, which in this study was shown to kill up to 96% of human breast cancer cells in vitro. And when mice were fed this natural compound, they had breast tumors 55% smaller than untreated mice after 6 weeks. Cucurbitacin B is a powerful anticancer compound and in lab studies has also been shown to potently suppress prostate, lung, and pancreatic cancer, as well as leukemia, neuroblastoma and others. But could cucumbers reduce breast cancer risk in women? Yes, according to two fascinating studies. In one study from Italy, women eating the most salad-type vegetables (including cucumber) with olive oil had 34% less risk of breast cancer. In a study from Greece, women eating cucumber twice per week had 15% less risk of breast cancer compared to those eating it just once per week—and protection increased the more cucumbers they ate (daily consumption is best!). But the same Greek study showed truly stunning results for women who consumed cucumbers and lettuce every day along with raw carrots at least twice weekly: that healthy combination reduced their risk of breast cancer by a staggering 88%. As usual, a healthy diet based on plentiful fruit and vegetables (preferably organic and raw) provides stunning health benefits.

Okra (Bhindi)

Okra Inhibits 75% of Metastatic Melanoma Cells in Vitro: Okra is emerging as a superfood against both cancer and diabetes. In this study, okra pectin inhibited the proliferation of highly metastatic mouse melanoma cells (B16F10) by 75% after 48 hours of treatment and also increased the rate of programmed cell death (apoptosis) by nearly 23-fold. The researchers also discovered that the pectin triggered apoptosis by interacting with Galectin-3 (similar to the well-known modified citrus pectin). In other recent studies, okra was shown to kill 72% of human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) in vitro, and a population study revealed that American men eating a “Southern” style diet (characterized by eating okra, grits, cornbread, beans, rice and sweet potatoes) had 40% less prostate cancer. Multiple studies have now also confirmed okra as a potent anti-diabetic food both in lab experiments on tissue cultures and in rats. Clinical trials on people have not yet started, but the internet is currently teeming with anecdotal reports of diabetics finding help by soaking cut-up okra pieces in water overnight and then drinking the water in the morning (interestingly, roasted okra seeds have been used in Turkey for generations as a traditional medicine for diabetes). Bottom line: okra may be the next superfood of the 21st century.

Lime Juice

Lime Juice Inhibits 89% of Pancreatic Cancer Cells In Vitro: In this lab study, four different extracts of Mexican lime juice (citrus aurantifolia) were all found to potently inhibit the growth of human pancreatic cancer cells (Panc-28) in vitro, up to 89% after 72 hours of treatment. This was due in part to direct killing of the cancer cells via programmed cell death (apoptosis). The lime juice also showed powerful free-radical scavenging activity. Several key compounds were identified in the lime juice, such as rutin, neohesperidin, hesperidin and hesperitin as well as several limonoids. In real studies on humans, citrus fruits have often been shown to impart significant risk reductions for pancreatic cancer but limes are not consumed enough to be categorized alone. One recent study showed that those consuming 2-3 servings daily of citrus / melon / berries had a 30% reduced risk for pancreatic cancer, while those drinking 200-300 grams of orange or grapefruit juice had an astounding 48% reduced risk of pancreatic cancer (that’s just a normal drinking cup worth!). Personally, I consume the freshly squeezed juice of one lemon and one lime every day, and can clearly feel the boost it gives to my energy levels.
